We can open a bank account from the age of 16, but before 18, parental authorisation is required.

You must declare your salaries if you have received any.
- If you have a “Student job”you must only declare what exceeds the equivalent of 3 SMIC (5,405€ for 2025 income),
- If you have received any Internship allowance, You should only declare what exceeds the annual minimum wage amount (€21,622 for 2025 income).
- If your parents give you a maintenance payments, you must declare it. The maximum amount to declare is €6,855. It is not necessary to declare any amount exceeding this.
You should not declare social grants and housing allowances.
